From MLB blowouts to Premier League nail-biters, the community threw down plenty of calls this week — some nailed it, some got roasted by the scoreboard. Here's how it all shook out.
MLB
The Nationals torched Colorado 13-3 while the crowd stubbornly called NO on them all night — brutal readback. On the flip side, the Yankees' 16-1 demolition of Boston had backers feeling smug after calling YES, and the Cardinals faithful correctly saw a 1-13 shellacking coming against Baltimore by calling NO. Diamond chaos all round, basically.
English League Championship
Southampton smashed five past Millwall but the room called NO on the Saints — oops. Bristol City fans read the tea leaves better, calling YES as they edged Portsmouth 2-1.
English Premier League
Spurs backers called YES at home only to watch Newcastle nick it 2-0 at their place — tough one to take. Meanwhile the Liverpool crowd sniffed out a stalemate, correctly calling NO as the Reds drew 2-2 with Forest.
Australian AFL
The Bulldogs squeaked past Collingwood 96-93 and the community's split YES call just about held up, while Melbourne backers wisely called NO before Carlton ran riot 74-55.
English Rugby League Super League
St Helens fans backed a YES that never showed up as Leeds Rhinos ran away 34-6, and Wakefield quietly embarrassed the NO callers with a 28-12 win over York. Rough week for the Super League faithful.
NFL
Baltimore's 41-3 flattening of Washington had YES callers feeling like geniuses, but the Jaguars' shock 19-0 shutout of Tampa Bay left the NO crowd stunned. Gridiron never plays nice with expectations.
Australian National Rugby League
Manly put up 44 points on the Dragons while the community had firmly called NO on them — big miss. The Cowboys crew fared much better, correctly calling YES as North Queensland handled the Tigers 24-10.
