Upsets, Upgrades, and a Whole Lot of Nerve

From Racecourse stalemates to AFL blowouts, this week had the community swinging big — and getting burned just as often as they got it spot on. Let's run through who called it and who got called out.

English League Championship

Millwall and Southampton delivered exactly what the crowd expected with routine wins, but Preston fans got ahead of themselves — the majority backed a home win over Wolves and watched a 1-3 reality check instead. Cardiff and Wrexham's 1-1 snoozefest was called correctly by the doubters.

Australian AFL

Adelaide's 157-101 demolition of the Giants had the community nodding along in agreement, but West Coast backers got humbled as Hawthorn ran riot 107-45 despite majority support for the Eagles. Brutal week to be an optimist in the west.

English Premier League

Hull City stunned Old Trafford with a 2-0 shock over Man United while the majority sat on the fence and said no — nice miss, crowd. Ipswich fans however called their 2-1 win over Sunderland with total confidence (29 yes!) and got rightfully rewarded.

English Rugby League Super League

Leigh Leopards absolutely dismantled Bradford Bulls 62-10, yet the majority didn't see it coming — tough scenes for the doubters. St Helens' comfortable win over Castleford, though, was read like a book by the crowd.

MLB

A rollercoaster round with the Rockies bouncing between shock wins and heavy losses against the Dodgers, keeping callers guessing all week. The Astros' 3-18 disaster against the Angels wasn't exactly the 'edge it out' scenario the majority had pictured.

Australian National Rugby League

Storm vs Panthers had the community deadlocked 22-22 in the calls before Penrith snuck home 22-14 — talk about split loyalties. Meanwhile the Titans' collapse against Cronulla was read loud and clear by the sceptics.

NFL

The Chargers' no-show against the 49ers (17-41) was seen a mile off by the majority, and Buffalo's demolition of Cleveland followed the same script. Tampa Bay's tight 16-15 nail-biter over Kansas City, though, had the crowd sweating it out and getting it right.
