What the Call: Upsets, Blowouts, and a Few Red Faces
This week served up goals, buckets, touchdowns, and a community that swung wildly between genius and chaos. Here's where the Called It crowd nailed it — and where the Valley, the arena, and the gridiron had other ideas.
English League Championship
The crowd read Watford and West Brom perfectly, correctly sniffing out defeats for both. But Blackburn, Swansea, and Southampton all snuck home wins while the majority was busy saying 'no chance' — proper backfire territory.
NBA
Boston's 38-point demolition of Philly made the 'no' majority look downright spooked after the fact, and the Suns/Cavs doubters also got burned. The real heroes called the Hornets' road upset over the Bucks — fair play.
NFL
New England's 45-17 thumping of the Raiders left the 'no' crowd staring at the scoreboard in disbelief, and the Titans backers got a reality check watching a 3-26 collapse to Houston. Jaguars fans who called the Philly shocker, though — take a bow.
English Premier League
Chelsea's 5-1 romp over Bournemouth made the doubters look silly, and Arsenal's win over Leeds slipped past a sceptical majority too. Hull's draw with Everton wasn't quite the home win the crowd was banking on, but no one's perfect.
NHL
The Rangers' 6-2 statement in Vancouver caught the majority flat-footed, while Washington's home win over Seattle was one the crowd actually got right. Calgary and New York Islanders backers, meanwhile, had a rough night on the ice too.
MLB
Small slate, small mercy — both the Guardians and Brewers snatched wins while the majority was leaning the other way. Tough luck on the diamond this week.
